I have had the honor of managing Many Many Women for the past five years, when I took over as proprietor from Steve Peters in December of 2015. My life has radically changed over those five years – I attended and graduated from grad school, earning a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences, my musical project, Cruel Diagonals, was launched, and I moved from Seattle to the Bay Area and finally to Los Angeles. You may have noticed that this site has remained largely dormant for the past two years, and that has been due to these life changes.
I was approached by Dana Reason, vice president of the International Alliance for Women in Music, who will now be the interim proprietor of this index.
Thank you so much for all who have followed the development of this resource, and I look forward to seeing how it will blossom under new management.
All my love,
Greetings, MMW community!
Once a year, I pay $99 to WordPress and $20 for domain name registration to keep this website afloat. All other work I do on this site is on my own time and out of a labor of love. Will you please help me offset the annual admin costs of the site upkeep?
You can find the GoFundMe page here, or you can contribute directly to the MMW PayPal here.
Thank you kindly!
All my love,
I never use this platform to push any of my personal projects, but this is something that I think may be of interest to this community.
I’ve been working on developing research surrounding advocacy for better representation of non-men in experimental/left-of-field music from the standpoint of archives and collection development. I recently presented at MoPOP’s Pop Conference in Seattle on the subject, which you can read about here.
I’m not currently under the employ of an educational or journalistic institution, but I think this research should be published and shared! Will you please consider donating to my Kickstarter campaign to fund this effort? Thank you in advance. Cheers!
